Interwoven

Well there was frayed ribbon and my frayed temper making this one.I couldn't decide on the best way to attach the ribbon to the backing card. The result is clear to see ,the glue is still wet .It should dry out and look OK.

Fifi ze French poodle

365 Cards - Day 141 - DIY Hand drawn .
Well , no laughing in the cheap seats I did my best.Using a rough outline which you can see at the top I am proud (LOL)to introduce 'Fifi ze French Poodle '. Once she was coloured in I went over the outline with a fine black pen adding detail to her paws.
WISE WORDS -Don't keep making the same mistake..there are plenty out there to chose from.

Button Up

The weather never ceases to amaze me. At 6.45 this morning the skies were clear and had a wonderful pink tinge as the sun rose. BY 9.00 am I couldn't see to the bottom of the garden , a thick mist had come down which disappeared by 9.30 to leave a beautiful sun filled day.

365 cards- Super Sketchy Sunday - Using the above layout and lots of buttons to make my card. The papers are from Kaiser.

Day 138 -Create your Own - We had to chose a trio colour combo ,a pattern such as paisley or gingham, a shape such as star or heart and two embellishments.I chose lilac, blue and green, gingham paper, a star and two brads.

Catch up at 365

We've had some serious rain today and it has been a bit dark and gloomy.the flash on the camera makes everything look a bit pale and it doesn't show off some of the detail. Day 137 - Hot and Cold - Pick two colours ,one a warm spectrum colour the other a cold colour.

Day 134 - Card recipe -4x4 , 4 papers ,5 flowers,hand stitching, one stamp and one sentiment.
My four papers are in the corners,my stamp is around my sentiment and my flowers are along the bottom. Hand stitching around the triangles in pink to match the pink paper.

Christmouse again.

The mouse may not be a favourite with many people ,I quite like the little critters. If you've ever had a cat and a catflap then mice are inevitable. Our cat Tom would bring them in ,let them go and then fall asleep on the sofa.Other presents have included rats, hens , baby rabbits and worms.

We all know the story "Twas the night before Christmas".In my house everyone is sleeping except one little mouse.

Moving Along With The Times - challenge 55 - Heidi's sketch with Animals as well.

Simple Curves

I'm much happier with this flower, still not happy with the the way the colours have come out.
365 Cards - Day 136 - Imagine this -Chalkboard .The papers I've used are from Kaisercraft, I wasn't very happy with this flower and went back to the craft room.I made another flower with the Kaisercraft paper but the light wasn't good enough for a piccie. The flash makes the paper look grey.I will have another go tomorrow. Well I got another piccie you can see at the top.

Christmas in July

Since I came to live in the Southern Hemisphere Christmas has disappeared for me.Christmas Celebrations in hot weather just don't work which I suppose is why many people have their "Christmas in July".

Golden Globe

Southern Girls DT entry
I've bypassed Day 134 cos I can't decide what papers to use, hopefully I will make a decision tomorrow and get it made.So onto this card. Just realised the disc looks like an aerial view of a hat with a ribbon at the back.
365 Cards - Day 135 - White Space-When we had lots of these earlier in the year I got a bit bogged down for ideas but the occasional one is OK.Hope your listening at HQ.

Flowery Love

Today has been another sunny day ,it's hard to believe we are in the middle of Winter. My windows and doors have been wide open for the second day in a row.
365 Cards - Day 133 - Super Sketchy Sunday.I bought this paper last year and never thought I would use it.I loved the colours and aged look but the pattern is so big it doesn't repeat itself.I should have bought two sheets and then I could have decoupaged it.

winning streak

Before I went to bed last night I had a quick look at some of the challenge sites I have been playing along with and I had to pinch myself very hard. My little mouse with his white leaves and snowflakes is a winner at Pear Tree Designs and made top 3 at Die Cut Creams Christmas Club.

I've had a busy morning ,the weather is beautiful today so I have all my laundry drying in the sun. I did some painting this morning ,not decorating or a Michael Angelo work of art just some white doilies in vibrant shades. I spent a little time waxing as well ,one of things I hate about the ageing process.I can cope with the gray hair and the middle age spread but the beard and moustache are no fun at all. I've made soup and I just have a little ironing to do .If I'm really quick I should get a card or two made.

Sending love to Michelle

The Internet has made the world a smaller place ,through craft sites and challenges we interact with many like minded people. We may never meet them or hear their voice but we can feel a connection. This card is made for a fellow crafter Michelle who has recently lost an eye ,click on her name for the full story. If you can spare 5 minutes make a card and send it to her with lots of crafty love. I'm off to post my card now ,catch ya later.

A Spoonful of Sugar have a free image for you to use and Michelle's address is posted there.
Karens Doodles also have a free image to use.
365 Cards Day 132 - Stampin Saturday - Use one digi image and one stamped image.I've used the digi Donkey image and the sentiment is an acrylic stamp.
Inspirational Card Sketches - 73 - I've turned the layout on its side but it still has the right elements .

A welcome addition

365 Cards -Day 131 -Beautiful Banner - I've never thought of putting a bunting type sentiment on my cards before . It's a bit different and I quite like it. My little rocking horse doesn't get used much which is a shame as he is so cute.

A Rainbow of colours

When I saw all the different colours in the top photo I was not a happy bunny,an impossible task to find just the right paper. Tidying my craft room later in the day I found this small A6 paper,it doesn't have orange on it but it is a very pretty paper with lots of delicate colours.

Three for Thursday

Day 129 - Aged Look - Forgot to put the tag on,it should have a tag saying "picked for you".Ooops, back to the craft room.

Day 128 - Colour Scheme. I just love all these colours ,I really enjoyed putting this simple card together.

365 Cards - Day 127 - Old ,New Borrowed and Blue.
I spent the best part of yesterday morning trying to come up with an idea.I finally found this free image .My thoughts were to make the images into stamps, which I did ,complete with perforated edges. My goal was to make a postcard showing a collection of handbags. Alas I was too late with this idea ,my very talented crafting buddy Jan beat me to it and made a card with a similar theme for yesterdays challenge day 129.I managed to use the stamps I had so lovingly made in a different way. They represent bags from different eras.
Moral to this post "the early bird gets the worm" or in this case the best ideas. Pop over and have a look at Jans blog she does make beautiful cards.

Onto a Winner ? I don't think so.

My card making is very hit 'n' miss ,I haven't found a style that seems to be me. Sometimes you can look at batch of cards and know who made them,it's called being consistent and as long as they are consistently good then you will win.
In June I managed to win two challenges ,one at Little C's the other at 365 Cards along with a couple of top 3 or 4 spots.Yesterday I was lucky and won the June challenge at Christmas Cards All Year Round with my 5 Bird cards.

Is there a point to this post, YES.Don't let the horrible cards you've made stop you from being creative. Hang in there and like me you might have the odd win.

Get crafting and have a good day.

Pink and Girly

All this pink reminds of the author Barbara Cartland who always wore the most hideous pink outfits.

365 Cards -Day 126 -Super Sketchy Sunday - you can see the layout on their site.

Little C's - challenge for 6th July - Inspired by a photo with lots of pink and candies. You should pop along and join in the fun ,they also have a scrapbook challenge on Saturdays.

Orange and Purple

365 cards -day 124 - Shades of Purple.

365 cards - day 125 - Shades of Orange -I've used a black ribbon to go with the text but I think it will look better with a white ribbon,so I'm off to change it.

365 Cards -I'm still missing last Sundays card,I will probably do it tomorrow along with the current Sunday challenge.
